Every year on the 22nd of April, people around the world come together to progress climate action and celebrate Earth Day. As a city aiming to be the first in the UK to become carbon neutral, we’re looking to everyone to do their bit and you could make Earth Day on Saturday the time to make a start.

This year’s Earth Day theme is ‘Invest In Our Planet’ which highlights the importance of dedicating our time, resources and energy to solving climate and environmental issues. When we invest in our planet, we are supporting healthy and happy communities worldwide. Earth Day reminds us that our actions at a local level can collectively make a difference.

In Nottingham, we will be lighting up the Council House green on Earth Day to show our commitment to investing in the city to tackle climate change.
